I don't like much femmeslash either (not because I'm only in it for teh hot guyz, just because I haven't found a whole lot of female-female relationships that ping my very laid-back inner shipper), but I LOVE them.

I love what little I've seen of them when they've popped up in other stuff I read, and the idea of them together is definitely intriguing. Do you have any canon recs for titles where they interact a lot?

I haven't read too many of the Ms. Marvel title comics, but in some of the ones before Secret Invasion, she and Jessica would hang out, and in some of the Fear Itself Avengers/New Avengers issues, they interact a lot (Carol is the one that pushes Jessica to approach Clint, who Jessica's now dating or something), as well as in the Dark Reign/Siege era New Avengers...basically, just read New Avengers =P They're super cute, even if you don't ship them. They're total besties, and it's really sweet.

As for a possible shippy moment, New Avengers #57 has Jessica's last thoughts being about Carol as she thinks she's dying ;)

I can't see them even trusting each other, let alone being BFFs or slashing each other. They are way too different and stand for different things.

That's fair enough, but the same sort of dynamic could probably be said of a hundred insanely popular guy/guy slash pairings. Shipping a pairing doesn't necessarily mean romance and flowers and cuddles and BFFness, it can mean hate sex and awkward UST and knowing that you're wrong together but still going back for more. *shrug*

Another reason why Frank Millar is a total pillock. Bruce and Clark may not always see eye to eye and their way of thinking can be different, but they are best friends. Saying Bruce doesn't like Clark is like saying he doesn't give a shit about any of his Robins - it only happens when he's given to crappy writers like Millar.

...except for the fact that you know, Spiderwoman saved Ms. Marvel's life (the reason that Carol ended up with Xmen for a while), and told her at the same time if she ever needed someone to talk to, she'd always be there for her.

I agree. I was introduced to them throgh some of the really long Steve/Tony AUs where they had a spotlight as a beta or maybe alpha couple - and they were awesome. I hope the movie gets new fans interested in the comics so you can get more fic.

I don't really ship them as more than total besties, but I can definitely see it as a romantic ship! :) I feel like the two characters are just entirely under-appreciated in general, they don't get any fandom love (though to be honest, not many of the female characters do, which puzzles me. Marvel has some fantastic female characters, both of these ladies included!).
