I kind of agree? Though I also think that Draco was miscast, as was Snape, so... I mean, they'er good, but too attractive IMO. Though, in Draco's defense, they cast him and the rest of the child actors as, well, child actors, and they didn't know what they were going to get in the long run. ^_^

I don't mind him any more than the rest of the cast, but I am bothered that he seems to have taken over the collective head canon for the books as well. Every time Lucius comes up in a fic and he's described with the long hair and pimp cane, it gives me a little nose-wrinkle of, "Oh, you put movie-Lucius in my beloved bookverse..."

Well, minus the cane, he looked like my imagined Lucius. I did imagine Lucius with long hair before the movies even came out. It just seemed to fit the character to me.

I think he was perfect for Lucius, personally, and not just because he's hot. I think he hits it exactly in terms of character. His interviews occasionally bug me a little when he claims that Draco was abused rather than spoiled, but that didn't necessarily come across on screen.

when i was a kid and watched the first few movies, i thought he was terribly miscast. he just seemed too burly/strong/broad physically, and in terms of his acting, chewed ALLLL the scenery. like, as just a casual viewer, i didn't know he was super involved in the process of fleshing out movie!lucius. now ofc i love him, but i think it's only because of how into i got into hp after the fact.

I didn't think he was horribly miscast, but it did feel a bit shoehorned, like, I love the actor, but he didn't feel like Luicius to me. He felt like a popular actor they put in a long blond wig, and it bothered me. Perhaps it's because I know him from other films so I know that isn't how his hair really looks. (Versus Luna's dad, who totally pulled it off. In fact, Luna's father looks far more like my mental idea of Luicius than Jason Isaac's.)
