I wouldn't feel too bad for her, OP. Lottie's a very optimistic person. Sure it didn't work out for her in the film but it's clear by the end she hasn't given up her dream of finding someone, lol. She's a very sweet and generous character. I can see oceans of good karma coming her way for all she did to help Tiana. I'm sure she'll find her special somebody even if it takes a bit longer. I just hope they never make a shit sequel about it.

I understand you, OP. Although I myself am more Tiana with big dreams involving a career, my sister is very much like Lottie. Sure, she works and wants to become a ASL teacher, but her dream is to find her prince and raise a family.

I don't think there is anything wrong with that- in fact, I think it's just a beautiful dream as any. As long as you roll with the punches and don't lose your entire life waiting for that moment (which is bad for whatever dream anyone has- because life can be unpredictable and ready to give us another dream at any time), you'll be fine.

I love Lottie so much. I don't identify with her (well, I act a little like her when I'm in the middle of a sugar rush), but she was one of my faourite parts of the movie.

And don't worry about her, I'm sure she'll get be happy. :)

That's understandable, OP. I think a lot of us are more Lottie than we are Tiana; sure we'd love to have her drive, but...most people don't. But hey, at least she has a great friend and a great family and options, you know?

Just cause Lottie has no one by the end of the film doesn't mean no one would EVER love her. I'm sure she'll get a prince even if he isn't actually royal haha.
Likewise even though Quasi doesnt get Esmerelda at the end of HOND doesn't mean no one would EVER love him. (haha yes yes I know about the sequal)

I said "happy ending," not man. In a way though, you can "earn" a man. That is, a functional relationship is something that requires work. In order for you to be a candidate for one of these relationships, you have to be a functional person. Speaking from experience, I was never able to hold down a healthy relationship until I got my shit together. Turning myself into a functional human being took years of hard work, so in a way I feel that my reward is finally being able to handle being in a relationship. My happy ending (I'm getting married soon) was "earned."

Look at it this way, if it helps, OP: would you really want Lottie to get stuck with Naveem or whatever his name was? Had to be the most unlikeable prince in the Disney franchise. I kept hoping Tiana would throw him into the swamp and never look back. :/
