I just think that the character emotional dynamic is very weak because of the way they set it up. They have Nick (who is, let's be honest, a rather stiff, unemotional actor) doing all the emotional heavy lifting. There's no team dynamic, since it's all Nick interacting individually with people. There's no buddy dynamic, because there's no mutual trust and there's only one main character, Nick. There's potential for buddy dynamic with both Monroe and Hank, but it hasn't gelled. You just don't see them talking about their lives to each other or putting their lives on the line for each other. So far the domestic dynamic is frankly... dull. Not only doesn't Nick confide in her about things that as his fiance-to-be she should damn well know he doesn't even discuss the above board parts of his cases. And what she does when he isn't around is a complete mystery.
The one character that I am most emotionally attached to is Monroe, but I think that has to do more with the fact that the actor is charismatic than the writing. The rest -- well, hopefully it will be given an opportunity to grow, because you really can't build a dynamic when one of the partners keeps everything interesting a secret.

IDK though, Jim Profit kept EVERYTHING a secret and the way they built the interesting dynamics in that show was that there was a person around that knew a lot of his secrets who was often on his side and just as often not. I could see Sasha Roiz' character heading down that path AND being way more sympathetic than Bobbi Stakowski was.
