I found the writing too distractingly bad in many scenes to appreciate anyone's acting anyway. I think my favourite of Matt's performances was in Doctor's Wife though.

IA. He was at his best in The Doctor's Wife. Probably, in part, because the writing was better. Like, he reacted believable to situations.

Yeah I think it was the most emotion they've ever gotten out of me from Eleven, though I'm sure it was a joint effort between his acting and a really strong script with believable emotional situations. An actor is going to have a really hard time impressing me if I can't get past the "this is bullshit" stage, which unfortunately described how I felt about much of the series 6 arc episodes. Stuff like God Complex, I thought his performance was fine/good, but I don't recall being shocked by his talent or anything.
