1) Sherlock is a more "worthy" object of devotion than Light Yagami. Yes, he's a jerk, but he's not THAT bad and...
2) I don't see Molly as fanatically, creepily devoted to Sherlock as Misa is to Light. For example, Misa would probably murder anyone who she thought Light had feelings for. If Sherlock ended up with another woman, Molly would be sad but I think she'd get over it. She definitely wouldn't murder anybody.
