:( That's really sad OP, but I think the fact that you want to be a great friend and to do awesome things like that for people, rather than just have a great friend to do awesome things for you, is pretty impressive.

Maybe you can try to get to know your friends better and see if you start to like them more? Sometimes really great friendships start as shallow acquaintances, and if you don't really care about losing them, taking the risk that they'll reject you shouldn't be that big a deal. Or keep looking, and if you find someone you like don't just let them go, or chicken out of showing you feelings, or anything.
