The good news, OP, is that if you want to become a better friend, that is something you can do. If you start doing nice things for others, you will already have reached your goal. In the process, you might even find that if you take the first step, some of your crappy friends will surprise you, and start treating you more like the way that you would like. Someone has to take that first step, you know?

I feel like I have some amazing friends, but that doesn't mean that they don't disappoint me sometimes. THEY DO. But what are you gonna do? I'm sure that I'm hardly the perfect friend either (even though I do try to be a good one). I mean, there are A LOT of lame idiots out there, and these people that you call your friends probably have *something* that you like about them, or they wouldn't even be your so-called friends...SO they are probably better than at least 75% of those other mouth-breathers that you know, if you think about it! Anyway, If you always think about what's bad about a person, you will miss what's good about them.
