The problem is not in loving Molly, but in hating Misa. Misa has her flaws, as every character should have. An obsessive love is never healthy. But the problem is that Death Note is that misogynist fandom that hates everything that comes between L and Light's ~love~. I don't think that a girl that chooses to do everything because of love is weak. A girl can still be awesome and badass while loving a man. Why is it that when a boy does everything for the girl he's called a romantic, a gentleman, a true hero, but when it is the girl that thinks that the man is worth dying for, she's just a stupid bitch?

"Oh because doing everything for a man is antifeminist, so we shall hate and call weak female characters that do so" Ironic, right? Let's hate females because we are feminist when we should love all types of woman and not only the "screw man" ones.

Molly is adorable. She's strong, and smart, and she thinks Sherlock is someone worth doing everything for because she motherfucking loves him. He doesn't love her back but, fuck it, just because someone doesn't lovs us back does that make us love that person less? She loves him and it's a selfless love where she doesn't really care if he loves her back or not. She just wants to see him, for once in his life, happy.

And that's the same with Misa. She's a quite smart girl that fell in love with an idea and then with the man behind the idea. It's obsessive but she's quite the Harley Quinn of Death Note. She isn't less of a woman because she loves someone obsessively. Yes, it's unhealthy. No, it's not a relationship that most people should want to have. But so is Snape's love for Lily, but, oh, let's see, he's a man so it's okay and romantic. She's a girl, it's just stupid. Let's be a little less hypocrite, shall we?

But Misa does whatever the fuck she wants with her feelings. She's in love and that's all that matters for her so let her love, she does whatever the fuck she wants. She was never less than Light. She helped Light. She was the reason behind Light's success. She's awesome for fuck's sake, but that's my opinion. I always loved Misa despite her flaws and despite not thinking her love was quite the healthy one but her obsessiveness should never be compared to Molly because the only thing they have in common is unrequited, selfless love.

Light's her world. She dies for him because it isn't worth living while he's not around. It can be a little anti feminist, but if the roles were inverted, you can bet on what I'm saying, fandom would think Light's suicide after her death was romantic and not obsessive, mental, and stupid.
