Marius/Armand is way better than Lestat/Louis.
For serious?
I always thought that the only way to read The Vampire Armand without wanting to throttle Marius and Anne Rice was to read it as a testimony of how someone can be brainwashed into thinking that their abuser weally weally wuvs them and that it makes their abuse okay then.

Except it obviously wasn't written that way.

What abuse? Marius hit him twice. Armand instantly fell in love with him when he first saw him. Brainwashing? He made sure Armand was fucking educated and had him read books from different philosophers, hell, the whole point of Marius at first was to educate Armand and make sure he would be a productive member of society and send him away when he was ready. Plus Armand was free to do almost whatever he wanted. Marius beat Armand once and that's the worst it ever got.

Come back when you find proof he did more than Edward Cullen.
