I like Misa because she's interesting in a fucked up kind of way and I don't understand fandom's love for Molly since she's frankly a bit boring. I guess some of the hate for Misa comes from her being romantically linked with Light, some for being written in a very sexist way, and some just for being a girl. Molly isn't romantically linked to Sherlock in a way that's anywhere near mutual so she's not a threat to shippers. She's written in a pretty sexist way but the current 'all female characters are awesome and saying otherwise is sexist' way of thinking means the fans have a different reaction than to Misa... The reaction is different because the fandoms don't really overlap much.
