I don't know; when I realized there was actually a word for it, "asexual" was most used so I stuck with it. I think one of the goals of the greater community is to get the sexuality well-known enough that educated people won't immediately jump to single-celled organisms and the like when they hear the term used to describe people.

I think "asexual" sounds nicer than "nonsexual," me, but that's really just my opinion.
