Oh lord, I hear you. I used to be that way myself, until I learned more of the continuing plight of women blah blah and realized that dude, we are so ridiculously swayed by this anti-feminist polemic bullshit to believe women even slightly more vehement about their beliefs than most are something not to be associated with.

It's subtle, too =\

I grew up with both parents and the strong women in my family pretty much implanting the 'equality' idea from the beginning, so when I became aware of all the infighting - over the meaning of the word, no less - and crap that the movement gets because of the crazies within it I was like, "erm? Missing the point much?" But then you can say that for any belief system/movement, as you said.

And yes, very subtle and creepy. I find it really interesting - terrifying, but interesting - the way language is politicised like that, and how so many instances of it fly under the radar. 'Global warming' turning into 'climate change', fr'instance. HI, 1984! D:
