Admittedly, while I absolutely cannot condone anything Andrew did around that point of the movie, I am a little bit disappointed that the abusive father didn't die either. But hey, the father has to live now with having both his wife and son dead, so it's only a matter of time before he probably drinks himself further to oblivion anyway. :|a

It's a new movie that started airing in theaters last week, Chronicle. It's one of those "found-footage" movies about three teenagers that end up with psychic powers after coming in contact with a mysterious rock of some kind. One of the kids' dads, Andrew's dad, is an abusive drunk that he's forced to deal with at the same time as trying to take care of a sick mom and experimenting with his new psychic abilities.

Blech. I understand why he did what he did, and I hate his father too, but what he did wasn't justified. He hurt random innocent people because his dad was a dick? How is that okay? And everything saying they'd do worse or more or do it better? You people are fucking creepy and I'm glad I don't know you. I've wanted to watch the world burn too, but what makes me so much better than everyone else? What gives me that right? Nothing.

Right from the opening scene I was like, "damn, someone get this kid out of this situation and give him a massive hug."

As the movie progressed, I just kept frowning and thinking, "should've given him that out + hug, guys."
