Whine a lot, show off to try to prove you're cool, convince yourself a hot chick who you haven't seen since you were nine is the love of your life, kill a bunch of people and then say they deserved it, irrationally get advice from an old dweeb because you're vaguely afraid your wife has a chance of dying, kill a guy who exposes said old dweeb as an evil psycho, agree to follow said old dweeb because it's too much trouble to backtrack and realize you fucked up, throw a temper tantrum at your best friend because he call you stupid, try to kill your wife for criticizing you, spend nineteen years being the aforementioned old dweeb's lackey while dealing with your frustration by leading space nazis around the galaxy and bullying its members, sit around gloating while a planet gets blown up for no reason, kill a bunch of people who annoy you, torture a bunch more people, try to manipulate your son into joining you so you have some company, and don't have to listen to aforementioned old dweeb do Lex Luthor impressions, while you jet around the galaxy with your army of annoying space nazis, kill a bunch more people, and then go "oops, maybe all that stuff I did was kinda dumb" and be awesome long enough to die.

For someone who's already totally evil and miserable and has totally ruined his/her life and whose only future prospects is to maybe do something good before they kick off? Great role model.

For everyone else in the word? Not so much. Even for aspiring evil guys, Palpatine is a far better role model. Just remember not to put 3000 foot pits in your throne room.

I love Vader. SO MUCH. But this comment is not only hilarious, but true. While I think I understand what OP meant, Vader is really not a positive role model, nor could he ever be. He could be redeemed, but he's not something you'd ever want to aspire to be. You wouldn't want to follow in his footsteps.
