John Watson, patient? What?

I sometimes wonder if people are watching the same show as I am from all they say about John. For example, out of the two of them, the one who has actually murdered people in modern day London is John, not Sherlock.

My personal theory is that people are just disarmed by Martin Freeman's performance and forget to notice that of the two of them John is the scarier one. I mean, yeah, Sherlock has his issues, especially with his lack of understanding social boundaries but John is the sweet, nice guy that no one will ever suspect...

you've got to have the patience of a saint to put up with Sherlock's shit, I suppose. and he's certainly not afraid of getting his hands dirty.

Ditto. I also wonder if we're watching the same show when people say he's not patient. It's possible to get irritated and angry occassionally while still being a patient person, esp. when it counts.

John makes shots are nearly impossible irl esp. w/o a lot of extensive firearms training. He's definitely had sniper training to make that shot in the first season to kill the cabbie. And snipers? One of their defining traits is patience to track and target and wait on the kill. So, yeah, he's patient.
