+1, and I agree about the haters. So far I've found the fandom really positive and welcoming, even though it tends to be skewed a bit younger than fandoms I typically get into. I wouldn't describe any of the people I've met as 'frothing fans' and I don't think they'd be likely to look down on people for not liking THG. Maybe I've just been lucky, but I'm having fun so far.

Agreed. I can't say much to the fandom because I haven't dipped that deeply into it (mostly just talked with my real-life friends who are my age (older than YA)) but the few fandom interactions I've had were very pleasant. Certainly not like Twilight fan crazy, anyway.

Either the Twilight fans calmed down a lot in HGs fandom, or there isn't as much overlap as people say. I definitely haven't noticed much crazy, at least on LJ. themockingjay is a great place full of calm, rational positivity. :D
