oi, how about you stop trying to cut up our language into 'socially acceptable words' and 'vile nasty unacceptable words'? here's a solution for ye: anyone can use any words they want as long as they're also willing to accept the consequences for using these words? e.g. i don't care that you find the word 'bitch' offensive, but i totally accept that you'll judge me and potentially spread around to all your friends that i'm 'one of those' people. because i don't care that you'll judge me and yeah, i guess i am 'one of those' people, so that's not even untrue.

Whoa there, I'm not personally offended by the word 'bitch' in the way that others are. (I think automatically calling someone a misogynist for using it is dumb, for example.) All I meant was I think if a word was intended to be offensive from the start, it should probably stay that way, and I think it's stupid for people to rework an offensive term only to decide it's still offensive coming from people they don't like. 'Bitch', 'nigger' and so forth were always intended to be insults. Working them into 'positive' terms doesn't make any sense to me personally.
