True, but that's hardly the basis for a relationship.
I don't blame you for thinking they're a good couple or anything, I just don't believe it was very well thought-out at all. I've read the leaked dialogue and it pretty much comes out of nowhere, so, yeah. It's like they just threw them together because they couldn't think of what else to do with them.

Sure it is. If you really need a plausible reason why they'd end up together, perhaps the close quarters plus the "mate like rabbits in times of danger" instinct?
I think you're taking this way too seriously. I'm a crack shipper. I see possibilities for romance through interaction way less than Garrus and Tali have had. This does not bother me.
