I know a girl that was pretty much fired due to her asexuality once, actually.

During breaks, everyone would gather up and talk about their sex lives and shit, and she didn't have a problem with it at all, but they had a problem with how she never "contributed" her experiences to their discussions and when she told them she was asexual, they stopped inviting her, and she was eventually fired because "she made the others uncomfortable". And this girl is one of the nicest people I've ever met.

Another Ace that had the exact same issue, actually, except I was raped rather than fired and quit on my own. Newsflash - society is weirded about by asexuality, and yeah, other people WILL hold it against Aces. If it makes people uncomfortable enough, things like being fired or ostracized, amongst other negative consequences for Aces, can and often do happen. I don't think it's that common, because most people who are unwilling to accept asexuality tend to assume someone is celibate or just "can't get laid" or whatever. But it offends me greatly when people assume discrimination doesn't happen to Aces based on their orientation. Things like rape are very real and very painful, just as they are for everyone else (regardless of sexuality, or lack thereof). It's underreported for all demographics, so it's no wonder a lot of people haven't heard of it being a thing that happens to people because they identify as Ace, but it happened to me. If rape can happen, then I 100% believe the other anon was being sincere, because anything can happen - commonplace or not.

I have my money on the latter. Or if it's not made up, she was more likely doing something else to make everyone uncomfortable enough to fire her. Like being incompetent, not following policy, not communicating, shirking attendance, etc.
