(Anonymous) 2012-02-18 02:17 pm (UTC)(link)Oh you mean LIKE FUCKING TWILIGHT??? At least if Hunger Games had gone through with the suicides of Katniss and Peeta, it was for a better reason. It was about taking control away from the Capitol, not about love or romance.
And Hunger Games did feature suicide as an options. It's brought up at least twice: once at the end of the first book, with Katniss and Peeta and the berries, and once at the end of the last book, with Katniss trying to consume the suicide pill after killing Coin and then starving herself in her prison. Neither of these seem really glamorous or romantic to me, certainly not like in Twilight with Bella's attempts on her life to connect with Edward.
