I saw this secret, went "Oh that's that one Wheatley!", and was immediately relieved when it turned out to indeed be that one Wheatley. Forgot about this sketch.

It didn't bother me all that much, really? It seemed like it was just a silly thing, to make one follower smile. They weren't entirely being Serious Business about shipping, either, I thought. (Though I wasn't in the fandom when this happened.)

The NC-17 is really odd to me, but I can easily look away from it. Then again, somehow I ended up following multiple people who publicly post their masturbation fantasies about a spherical British robot.

Yeah, it's kinda weird. Like reverse-RPF meets Snapewives.

But again, the girl who does it is really nice, so I'd never say as much in the fandom.

Oh well. As long as it's not harming anyone, unhealthily obsessive, or bordering on stalking, I can't really find anything seriously wrong with it. It's just not for me.

Ahh, I love Ask Android Wheatley! I don't really care for shipping an actual person and a fictitious character either and am glad it's so minimal on this blog. I guess the reason it bothers me is I just don't know the person, so I know nothing about their personality and have no idea why the two would work together.

I don't HATE it, just not my thing. I just smile at the fact Wheatley's happy for once and move on.

I will admit, the irrational adamant Chell/Wheatley shipper in me is a bit sad he didn't ask her, since they had their touching reconciliation moment on the blog a little while ago, but that's just me.

tbh I feel kinda the same way, I mean, I'm not particularly mad about it but it seems kinda like, if an ask blog's particular gijinka take on the character starts dating a character outside of the canon, I dunno, it seems like they're skirting further and further away from being an ask blog for the canon character at all, and more into just being an OC ask blog.

Which, I suppose, is already true--each gijinka is, to some degree, already an original character--but the idea to me, seems to be, that they are still meant to ring true as the character the gijinka is based on. I dunno.

AskEvilWheatley is doing this too, to some degree.

Obviously there's some major fanon thing going on here, because, though I've played Portal 2 -- I don't recall anything like this. I seriously thought this was some disney movie or something by the art.

A bunch of tumblr ask blogs have various android/human/AU!Wheatleys floating around. Sometimes they get really sweet and awesome. Other times they get like the secret which can get kind of OOC. Some people don't mind, some do. (I personally don't mind if it's a rarity)

I have no idea about the fandom... but that aside, I really fucking hate it when artists or authors warn for slash, put up R or NC-17 warnings for it, etc. You don't need to warn for non-straight relationships, people, and to make the viewing rating higher because of it means you're reducing the relationship down to the sexual component. Sorry, but non-straight relationships aren't all about the sex and if you think they are you're a fucking bigot. (If you think all relationships are about the sex you're just simply a fucking moron. But I digress.)

I feel the same way (kind of, not as strongly perhaps) so I just scroll past those ones. If they keep it up I'll just unfollow them. The other wheatley's will reblog the awesomes.

Although I did love the chell reunion and would have liked more along that line :/

...Does this really happen that much? 'Cause I've never seen it [granted, I'm not into Portal 2, so maybe that's why?] But most ask blogs I've seen either make a point to say 'This blog is X pairing' or the avoid the shipping by being vague when anything is asked.

Me too. I was going to leave this exact comment here. I don't care if it's an "e-celebrity" or whatever, but the ask character blogs I think are stupid. I wish they'd stop cluttering up my dashboard whenever I try to search for other things related to a fandom.
