I like her as a character, for *what* she is rather than who. A character who is female who doesn't conform to all the standard female character traits. Would I like her in person? Probably not.

God, this. Amanda Fucking Waller was intimidating every which way a person can be. Now she's just one more skinny ninny in a comic book. When they're a dime a dozen, who's afraid of that?

This. I think she's a totally awesome and enjoyable-to-read character, but I don't really like her as a person. She's kind of a grade-A jackass, IMO.

Oh, she's a downright unlikeable person all right. If I met her in real life she'd be someone I want to punch in the face but am too intimidated of to even try.

But as a character, she's great. I like that she's a strong female character that doesn't conform to any of the normal comic book female stereotypes. She's not a damsel in distress, or eye-candy, or a plot device to advance a male character's story. She's Amanda Fuckin' Waller, and she doesn't do that shit.

It's okay. I have a character in my main fandom that almost everyone thinks is a god and a genius, as well as undeniably sexy. He is my mother to the core. His relationship to another character is just like my mother's to my father and just as unhealthy. His maltreatment of other characters and alarming mood cha,nges are identical to my mother's. It's perfectly okay to dislike a popular character because s/he reminds you of an abuser.

Jesus, do I hate her. I'll agree with the comments about her being a very well developed character, but, god, do I hate her guts. Though I will admit I enjoyed her in the episode "Epilogue", though that may have been the result of being a bit addled in her old age.

I'm very sorry she invokes those negative feelings in you, especially since the -original, I should say- Amanda Waller was actually a very loving (single, IIRC) mother.
