Really though, knowing the real story now makes me DEFINITELY not want to see it. Is this movie being advertised as "based on a true story"? Because that's like, nowhere near accurate. I just.. wow, sometimes I think the cries of 'WHITEWASHING!!!!!111`' can get pretty exaggerated, but now I'm just wondering how more people haven't been talking about this.

It's as accurate as any other time they use that phrase to advertise movies, which is to say that some names and locations might be accurate, but otherwise it doesn't have a single thing in common with the reality.
