Completely different dynamics, that's why. If that Spock was younger I would probably ship them too, I just am not into couples with such visible extreme differences (mostly because it makes me sad that they can't run around doing crazy stuff together, because that is part of my ideal dynamic, so it is totally just a preference thing).

Why does it mean they can't run around doing crazy stuff together?

Not being argumentative, just honestly confused.

Well, at TOS!Spock's age, physically it would be very hard for him to do the same things he could do in youth. I mean, old age ain't fun, and can really take a physical toll. Of course I translated tos!Spock as being old enough where he has all those aches and pains, and frailty, that is associated with humans in their 75-90's in the current day and age. Just watching my Grandfather in the last decade go from walking 4 miles a day to being confused where he is at times and hobbling around makes me take physical age difference seriously, perhaps more seriously then most would *shrugs*.

Ah, OK, so you were thinking in terms of literally running around. I guess that makes sense.

I was thinking more in terms of "doing weird and fun stuff," which would seem to be possible and even likely for Spock Prime, especially in fanfic. But as far as physical stuff yeah, he is going to be limited.

Yeah, though with physical age it depends on the couple. It's just for me nu!Kirk is so incredibly active to me, I feel like the best dynamic is someone who is running around with him, if that makes any sense? If he was less physically active and wildly adventurous, I would probably enjoy the dynamic more.

Of course, my favorite dynamic ever is the 'partners in crime' one, where the couple ends up glued to the hip and exploring their passions together in a complimentary manner. So if I had a dynamic preference that was different, I could see myself enjoying Spock Prime and nu!Kirk as a couple a LOT more. I have read a couple fics and enjoyed them, it's just not something I actively ship. /shrugs

I get what you mean. And I didn't mean to put you on the spot about shipping it! I don't really ship that much in Star Trek at all and mostly read whatever comes to hand that looks good. I was just curious what you meant.

Oh, no problem. I just tend to think and ramble when a person questions me about something, less because I feel put on the spot and more because I get thinking about the reasons why. Which is fun for me, so thanks! (seriously, I just think too much. XD)
