I don't like watching it, mostly because of the freaking video game. The one that was the first two movies? Yeah. The seventeen fucking levels that were the Battle at Helm's Deep. I FUCKING LIVED HELM'S DEEP. So no, I don't like watching it, because I've lived the movie enough.

But there was a lot of walking. And some hiding in front of the gate to Mordor with the magical camouflage capes. Oh, and some walking and talking trees.

(it's also kind of the basis for why I feel the second movie in most trilogies don't hold up to the other two, but I'm told often enough that I'm wrong. Whatevs, usually the second movies are never my favorite)

Are you talking about the game where you're the random elf chick who IS NOT LEGOLAS and there are bomb things and OMG YOU WILL NEVER WIN.

Because that game sucks. O_O

[identity profile] ladyyuna07.livejournal.com 2012-03-07 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Iiiii... I don't know? To be honest, I haven't played the game in about a decade (oh god, junior high was a decade ago?) so it's very hard to remember...

I think you could switch which character you were, like between Legolas and Aragorn (I remember that much because I focused on them), and there were barrel bombs in about four of the freaking Helm's Deep levels, and it was SO HARD TO WIN.

Also there was the one level where you had to fight off a million Orcs while trying to get to Boromir at the end of the FOTR half of the game? And that was ridiculously hard to win too?

I don't remember the name of the game I played, all I remember is you had an elf chick who was TOTALLY NOT LEGOLAS and a dwarf who was TOTALLY NOT GIMLI and a ranger WHO WAS TOTALLY NOT ARAGORN etc. etc. etc. like, you got to run around and do the stuff the original fellowship did (including the mines of Moria) without actually being the original fellowship.

But, if you got to be Legolas or Aragorn, then that's a different game. |D

Edit: It was Lord of the Rings: The Third Age (http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/The_Lord_of_the_Rings:_The_Third_Age)

Aww it was like a self-insert video game. XD Nah, that was definitely not it, because I played it in spring of 2003 and that one was released in 2004. (I only remember this because I broke up with my eighth grade 'boyfriend' (of about four days, I hardly think it counted) while I was playing it because he kept calling me and I kept losing because of it)

No, this was a game that combined the first two movies. I cannot for the life of me find it online. MAYBE I DREAMED THIS HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE. O____O

[identity profile] loracarol.livejournal.com 2012-03-07 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, basically. |D Got it, lol! I just remember that Helm's Deep was a shite one to play because it was A PAIN IN THE ASS AND HOLY SHIT IT NEEDS TO DIE.

Might it be this one (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lord_of_the_Rings:_The_Two_Towers_(video_game))? If not, this page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middle-earth_in_video_games) might help...

[identity profile] ladyyuna07.livejournal.com 2012-03-07 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
I can't edit.

Apparently it was just The Two Towers video game. (http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=lord+of+the+rings+video+games&hl=en&safe=off&prmd=imvns&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=1366&bih=643&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=5240682858365284558&sa=X&ei=GrxWT-zVMafk0QH_2OCyCg&ved=0CIQBEPMCMAE) Which... covered the first two movies? Okay...

[identity profile] loracarol.livejournal.com 2012-03-07 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry! I replied to your comment before you could edit it yours, which is why. |D

Huh... Well, the game... Looks interesting. O_o

I thought the second X-men movie was the best. The Empire Strikes Back is largely considered to be the best Star Wars movie. I also liked the second Hellboy movie better than the first, but the third hasn't been made yet (though supposedly there are plans for it) so who knows, the third could be even better. I can't think of any others offhand, but I think in some movie series, in the first one they're still figuring out what works, by the time the second rolls around, they've hit their stride and the actors have great chemistry. Then by the third one, a lot of the creative talent has gone off to other projects, or everyone's just tired of it and feels unmotivated.

That said, TTT was not my favorite of the movie trilogy at all.

I loved that game! Honestly, I enjoyed the games were more than the movies. If I recall correctly, The Return of the King game came out before the movie? Anyways, I was really underwhelmed by the ghost army scene because the game made it so much more epic.

ME TOO OMG! <3 I thought I was the only one. Honestly I loved ROTK the movie because the game was FUCKING EASY and I felt awesome while playing it lol
