I also see them as different pairings, different people. Maybe at core the two Kirks and two Spocks have similar personalities, but we are so shaped by our experiences I see the older Spock so different than the younger in so many ways.

Personally, I can only ship TOS!Spock with TOS!Kirk and even nu!KIrk feels like a poor substitute to me (though I like nu!Spock with nu!KIrk, or Uhura, or...both). But hey, whatever floats your boat anon :) You are certainly not alone in shipping nu!KIrk/TOS!Spock; it's a popular pairing in the fandom.
