I hate that attitude too! I have seriously lost count of how many times I've been criticized for "over-analyzing" fiction. The typical response is usually something along the lines of "It's just entertainment, quit sucking the fun out of it!" Meanwhile I'm thinking "Hey, maybe if you could get that massive stick out of your ass you'd realize that for some people that sort of thing IS fun."
