Both points which I totally agree with and understand, as I am a woman and have had to deal with those things firsthand. Anyone--male or not--coming into fandom spaces and belittling people and making them feel weird or wrong for something they enjoy is not something that I approve of, and anyone who does it is a complete and total asshat.

There is a difference, though, between saying that guys shouldn't come into female dominated fandom spaces and expect to be treated like special snowflakes and adored when they act like complete and total douches while they try to co-opt female-oriented spaces and what I was saying. Which is that the OP said they felt a bit left out of fandom because they're not a woman. They did not say that fandom should change. They did not say that there was anything wrong with the way that fandom is currently run. They did not in any way imply that shipping or fanfiction were weird or wrong. They also did not say that they were even male. I'm not sure why they feel left out of fandom because they're not female, but I don't see anything inherently wrong with expressing that, and I don't think it's cool to burst off comments like the one that I replied to that basically amount to, "well, people are shitty to me outside of fandom for being female, so I'm going to tell you to just GTFO out of fandom and quit whining if people are shitty to you inside of fandom because you're not female". And I'm sorry, but no. That does not fly with me.
