Um, I kind of like it. imo of course. Not because yay!sexism. But because I identify with the character more and root for her. Especially since I'm assuming she's going to be accomplished (hopefully) and not wandering around being a nuisance that you begin to hate because she represents the uselessness that many people still hold an image of which holds women in the real world back. Seeing a character fight the same things many women fight and 'prove' herself kind of gives me hope that that I can do the same. I guess an example for me would be Game of Thrones (show)which caught some flack (book) for being a fictional fantasy setting that was placed in an extremely misogynistic world. I think the reasoning was that since what went on was in the creator's control, it was sexist to not create a world were this problem didn't inherently exist. But though I don't necessarily plan on continuing with the show, I felt closer to women in history because of it because I felt it gave me a peek into what women of similar times went though and how they chose to fight back in the ways that they were able. I felt close in a more personal way because of the rage I felt on their behalf and respect for how some chose to maneuver things to not sit idly by and give up on the things they wanted.
