Seriously, OP? Victoria let an innocent six/seven year old child get shuffled into a psychiatric ward and shitty foster care and then jail, and believe that her beloved father was a cold-hearted terrorist for no reason other than she didn't want to lose her social status or be poor again. I mean she's definitely shown moments of humanity, but so has Emily (most of her interaction with Charlotte lately, her relationship with Amanda, even her treatment of Daniel sometimes shows hints of her feeling sorry that she's using him the way she is), and Emily has a hell of a lot better reason for doing what she does than Victoria did.

I mean, no doubt Madeline Stowe's a great actress and has done an amazing job of making Victoria seem sympathetic. But she's really had her work cut out for her, because wow has the character done some mostly inexcusable things.

I don't see a lot of humanity in her relationship with Amanda. Like how she planted the tapes in her room and tried getting Victoria to think she had burnt down the guy's house, or hiding Jack's calls from her.

I think she's showed genuine (or as genuine as Emily gets) concern when Tyler kidnapped Amanda (which could have just been concern for Her Plan, admittedly), and she also seems worried about what Takeda did to her. I mean of course she uses her, but on some level I do think she'd feel a little bit of remorse if it turns out she got her killed.

And let's add letting her son think David Clarke raped her, only to go, "I didn't say that!" when the truth comes out. She such a horrible opportunistic user. All the puppy dog eyes in the world towards her kids or in flashbacks won't change the unforgivable things she's done.

Emily has been warped and honed by the hell Victoria put her through. Whatever happens, Victoria deserves every moment.

And Victoria isn't just using people for pawns too? Emily is horrible, but Victoria is just as bad.

I partly agree, but that's a huge part of why I love them *both* madly, because they're being written against types. We have an antagonist who is arguably being developed as the most sympathetic character and a protagonist that's being written with the obsessive, one-track tendencies (although, NEVER one-dimensionally. She's as wonderfully nuances as Victoria, just in a different way.) usually reserved for villains.

♥ Revenge secret.

I somewhat agree. I think they are both scheming vipers. If anything I feel most sorry for Charlotte, Daniel, Jack and Faux Amanda. These people are caught in this couple's dangerous game with no way out. And let's not forget Nolan, who is caught because he cared about David and feels he owes him and has to help his daughter.

I think it's more horrifying that Victoria seems to have cared about those people and still did that shit to them. YMMV, of course.
