I'm somewhat active in the fandom and haven't seen anything that remotely points towards "furries", but whatever?

Yeah, I've seen the exact opposite a lot more actually; it's hard to find things where the birds are birds instead of being turned into humans. Which can get pretty frustrating if you're more interested in things about the crazy backstory that doesn't make sense with a human cast than about romance!

TBH, it is a dating game about birds, so I'd kind of expect "furry" stuff to go with the territory. Though there is so much worldbuilding and drama that I'm not surprised it attracted fans who aren't into the interspecies dating so much.

Haha, I actually just read a MC/bird!Ryouta fic on the kink meme a couple of days ago. It was...strange, to say the least. But at least most fanart of them are human.

But... that's the joke. I don't think most people who play this game actually have a serious kink for birds, but that's the thing about Hatoful Boyfriend, they're birds and it's funny and you just roll with it.
