I think you should keep losing weight, but realize that once skin is stretched out, it's most likely not going to be as tight as say...hers.

Don't get disappointed and lose it for healthier reasons!

You're getting in shape and losing weight, and you have an awesome role model. Don't feel silly, feel motivated! Go you!

[identity profile] nomorenoodles.livejournal.com 2012-03-09 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Keep in mind that you may not necessarily have the same jawline as her's because you might have different face shapes. Also re: double chins, I'm pretty slim and can have a double chin when I tilt my head too low so again, it depends on your face shape.

But good for you! Please try to be healthy and I'm sure you'll look and feel fabulous when you're happy with your weight. :)

This secret is making me think more than half of people involved with fandom are grossly overweight.

Was this secret written by more than half of people involved with fandom? Nice cooperation!

Well, I have a round face. Even when I was <100 lbs, I still had a double chin (I'm 5'4"), so...face shape does make a difference? I don't even know what you're talking about.

[identity profile] cafune.livejournal.com 2012-03-09 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
ugh i feel you anon. i'm the same height and fluctuate 115-120 pounds, but my face is round as hell, and i hate the double chin that appears whenever i tip past 118. any tips on dealing with it?

(Anonymous) 2012-03-09 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
Personally, I've never found anything that works 100%. I feel like it's something that people need to research, but it's such a specific problem, so I seriously doubt anyone will.

[identity profile] cloud-riven.livejournal.com 2012-03-09 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
But what if after you lose weight, your chin and jawline are further in that you think?

WHAT IF YOU HAVE NO CHIN?

You'll be just like my little sister, except she's always been super in shape, but her chin is pretty much non-existent. It's like all neck with a tiny bump separating it from the head. This is fine if you look at her from the front, or if she's wearing a scarf, but once you look at her from the side the illusion of chin is completely ruined

Luck though. My sis is adorbs despite her terrible flaw. You go and be awesome-looking! ♥

Even if you lost weight and went down to a typical BMI for your weight, you may still have a crappy-looking jawline. Everyone in my dad's side of the family, whether they are fat or not (some are and some aren't) have the turkey neck thing going on. It's just genetic.

Christ almighty, she's beautiful. Not much of an opinion on the dropping pounds thing. Good for you, setting a goal and going for it. =)

Hey, whatever motivation works for you.

[identity profile] lightshade597.livejournal.com 2012-03-09 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, as long as it is motivation for you to lose weight and you want to do it, more power to you. I might catch flack for this, but having a little bit of vanity or envy isn't always an eeeeeevil reason.

It's good to have a reason like 'I want to be healthy' but that doesn't have to be your ONLY reason. Often people have reasons as well as catalysts and goals for losing weight, so I don't think Katie Mcgrath is a bad reason at all. I think she is a very good role model: healthy and a nice person to boot.

Good luck \o/

Don't worry about the reason you want to lose weight, just use whatever works for you as the motivation. And don't pay any attention to all the "but you might not look like that anyway" comments either. Even before you've reached your final goal you are likely to feel awesome, as losing weight (if you've been overweight to begin with that is) has all sorts of positive effects. Not to mention an accomplishment like that is a great self confidence boost.

Use whatever gets you to where you want to go.

Also wow, way to shame, F!S.
