Was with you 'til here. Love triangles aren't really the point of the book, but "violence is cool" isn't really the point, either.

I somewhat disagree. The book was extremely violent and rather descriptive of said violence, to emphasize the world they live in and the stark nature of the Games. The violence, the carelessness with which the capitol viewed the districts lives, was all part of the story. Wouldn't be the Hunger Games without lots of violence!

Yeah, it was violent, but the violence was meant to show how horrible violence is, none of it was done in that "yay gore!" kind of way. Maybe that anon (you?) didn't mean "yay gore!" when he/she said he/she hoped there was lots of bloody violence, so if I took it wrong, I'm sorry.
