Are you me, OP? This is exactly how I feel about shipping, and HG fandom in general. I wasn't really a fan of Peeta throughout the books, but the fandom (or at least the majority of the fandom on tumblr, where I hang out) obsessing over him CONSTANTLY and just acting like he is the premier specimen of boy made me hate him. Romance really wasn't the focus of the books (which is why I particularly disliked the happy-ending epilogue) and I hope it isn't in the movies. Prim was a far more important character in terms of Katniss' motivation and actions than Peeta or Gale IMO.

OP here. Yeah, my fandom exposure is limited to Tumblr too. It's frustrating. I'm beginning to hate Josh Hutcherson, which is bizarre because I've loved him in everything I've seen him in. I would unfollow these people, but they post stuff about HP too, so...:(

The epilogue was awful. I actually hate Mockingjay as a whole. Katniss spends way too much time unconscious, which doesn't lend to Collins's strength in writing action. The only good part of the whole book, imo, is when they invade the Capitol. And then she kills Prim as a cheap emotional device. I have a lot of feelings. lol
