Yes, romance totally wasn't the point. That's why Katniss became a shell of herself at the very end, it's why Collins brushed past the trial and made Katniss marry Peeta just because he was lying in wait for her at home, and it's why she popped out his babies and had zero emotional attachment to them, because he kept begging her for them, not because she wanted them.

Nope, the books are totally not about Katniss ending up as Peeta's mindless fucktoy and baby maker! You're right, that is really nice :)
