Everyone has been a horrible person one time or another?

Nope. What about Lexi, Matt, Alaric, Jeremy or Caroline? Selfish, yeah, but horrible?

Well, I think Matt was a dick to Caroline, especially during that double date when he was unabashedly flirting with Elena all night, then called Caroline clingy when she got upset at his behavior. Even aside from that, I didn't like how he treated her during their relationship. Every compliment he gave her was attached to an insult, and she ate up everything he said because she was already so insecure.

Jeremy was a whiny jerk in the first season, but I could see why since he was going through emotional hell. So I agree with you on all the others.

Definitely agree about Matt- I liked him originally, the guy next door tends to be a kind of character I generally always root for, but he's gone progressively downhill IMO since the start of series.

Jeremy definitely should have been honest with Bonnie, but their whole relationship never made sense to me (especially on the heels of Jeremy's attachment to Anna). On the otherhand, I feel like the writers are specifically playing Jeremy as being emotionally younger? We'll have to see how it plays out. *shrug*

Totally agree with everything you said. I liked Matt in the beginning of S1, I thought he came off as very mature in the first several eps with Elena, but when he got into a relationship with Caroline, I didn't find him as likable.

+1 about Jeremy and Bonnie. I didn't think they made sense either; their relationship came out of left field and I think it was pretty much doomed from the start. I think the only real romantic connection he had was with Anna, but I like Bonnie too, so I think her breaking up with Jeremy was for the best. And yeah, I guess we'll have to see about Jeremy.
