I like the original voices as well, but I feel it's a good dub. Except for Ruka's voice actor.

I never even knew that people hated it so much. In fact, I still don't know. Do people really dislike the dub so much that this is a secret?

I actually saw the entire first season dubbed before I watched any of the Japanese version, because at that time my friend was the one collecting it and she only watched dubs back then for whatever reason.

I really liked the dub too. The Japanese is good, of course, but I normally watch it in English. I think all of the voice actors did a fantastic job.

The voice-actors are pretty decent, but I can't stand American accents when watching anime. (It's the way they pronounce the Japanese names... *shudder*)

...I thought it was an Internet consensus that this is actually a pretty good dub?

I don't like it. But I'm also too used to the Japanese VAs, so part of it is that, the other is how stilted and flat most of it sounds in English. But to give it some credit, I really like Utena's and Touga's English VAs (and Anthy's at times), I think they were perfectly cast.

Anyway, yeah. To each their own. :B

I liked some of the voices... but not others. I like Utena's NA voice a lot. Even though it was the same woman who voiced Misty from Pokémon and it was obvious, LOL

I absolutely loathe the dub. But I'm glad to see people are watching the show, in any format.

um...there are certainly others who have enjoyed it. Though I'm not one of them.

*shrug* I found a few of the performances good (Freeman as Touga, Ortiz as Shiori, Saionji). Anthy's English VA fits the character. So it wasn't all bad.

I heard that it gets much better in the later seasons, though I was far too attached to the Japanese seiyuu by that time to switch. I also heard that Ikuhara oversaw some of the dub recordings, so I guess he had his say in some of how it turned out. I'd still be pleased even if this language track were aired on cable television.

I was really hoping that RightStuf would take the chance to redub it. Oh well.

I'm a fan of the dub, not gonna lie (saw it dubbed back in the VHS days), but I can't stand Anthy's English VA, which kind of kills the show seeing as she's sort of a major character. :P There's also a few name mispronunciations.
