I assume OP meant white people trying to make themselves look more Japanese, even though Lelouch is white in canon? You can use make-up to give your eyes a more Asian look? Now that you pointed it out, I can't really think of what trying to look Japanese would entail, either. Yep, joining you in feeling that this seems vaguely racist.

Isn't OP essentially asking someone not to yellowface because the character isn't even asian? And isn't pretty much any "plz no yellowfacing" request a good one?

I'm not familiar with the term yellowface, but I assume it means a white person who makes themselves look Asian?

I didn't think it was racist when I thought OP meant that non-Asian cosplayers shouldn't try to look Asian, and I'm the racist feel doesn't come from that sentiment. Just that OP brought up at Lelouch isn't Japanese + that people shouldn't try to look Japanese when cosplaying him seeing as HE isn't Japanese + that they beliefe that buff people shouldn't cosplay him if they don't have the same physique as him kind of gives me an uncomfortable vibe that Japanese people shouldn't cosplay Lelouch in OPs mind, either.

This didn't occur to me until I saw the comments, but then I'm always more inclined to give the benefit of the doubt. But I can see why others feel uncomfortable with the secret.

I personally think there's some sort of "playing someone that's a different race as you" that's okay, and then there's X-face, which is obviously not okay. But I really don't know where the lines are, so I'm just gonna steer clear of it all.

I guess I don't know for sure whether OP meant "Asians don't look Asian if your CP character isn't" or "Non-asians, don't try to look Asian if your CP character isn't." For my faith in humanity, I'm going to assume the latter one.

I'm all for "no yellowface" but I dislike the potential conflation of yellowface and cosplay. Because those two are and should be separate. OP saying "don't change your features to look more Japanese" is fine but it seems to be based on Lelouch's race. When people are playing Japanese characters they shouldn't do yellowface either (for the reason that cosplay is not yellowface and vice versa).
