I think it does depend on the person. I'm very picky about certain preferences and not others. I have lots of things I just won't read. I'm reeeeeally picky about kinks. If I see something I don't want to read for whatever reason labeled, or come across it in the fic, I just scroll past/back button. To me it's perfectly reasonable to avoid something because I just do not care to read it.
