Maybe it's jut me but it baffles me as to why she gets so much hate for having crap character development and stupid villainous plans when Merlin and Arthur are equally inept at everything they do.

This! It's a little silly, but it's silly on both sides so it works. Also, I think part of what we like about Merlin and Arthur is that they are so clueless. I kind of like the implication that dumb luck saves Camelot more than anything else.

I like the OP's idea for a show, but I think it would have to be a different show with a radically different tone to it. (If nothing else, better CG effects - bad CG is okay in a show where they don't need to be that menacing, but if you want people to take things seriously, bad CG can shatter a story and really pull the audience out.)
