I'm sad you don't like the series anymore, but I get what you mean. It took me forever to give Inception a try because I was so tired of everyone pushing me to watch it.

But, yeah :( That's too bad, OP. Your friend shouldn't have pushed, and left you to write or read, depending on what you wanted.

Yeah, nagging makes me want to do the opposite of what they want.

I did, actually. Months went by and people stopped nagging me, so I gave it a try - and I loved it. Fascinating movie, wonderful concept.

I'm sorry OP, but I totally understand your reaction. That's why I have some series I completely refuse to watch, since I've had people do the 'But it's sooooo awesome! How could not have watched it?! Do you live under a rock?' routine that it just turned me off. : /

That sucks. I'm marathoning it right now (gave up on it about half-way through its run while it was on and I'm just now coming back) and I'm really enjoying it. It would really have hacked me off to have someone ruin my squee like that.

Some people ship the het pairings on the show (I ship Sheppard/Weir primarily with some occasional McKay/Keller).

Anyways, sorry that it ruined it for you :( Slash IS a huge pat of the SGA fandom, but your friend shouldn't have bugged you that much about it, because it's absolutely not 100% of the fandom.

I read slash (and gen), so that wasn't the problem. It's just I don't *write* slash. I do think the show writers were aiming for Shep/Weir in the early eps so I always got that pairing.
