I love that film!! My sister and I still sing the song to each other now (it's a great song).

Oh man, Princess and the Goblin was my favorite sick-in-bed movie! :D Ohh, I've been wanting to rewatch it but I'm afraid I'll think it sucks now that I'm an adult.

Aw, very few people I know have heard of my favorite pick-me-up songs either. That's not a fail at all.

I should check out that movie. I could use something cheerful.

OH MY GOD. MY CHILDHOOD.

I adored that movie--I still feel a specific kind of ache in my chest when I'm in beautiful old houses and there are wooden rosettes carved into the walls. Sometimes. Um. Sometimes also around balls of string. Or small but beautiful rings that glitter exactly right. When I was a child I was scared of mounds of white pebbles, because a hand might reach up out of them and grab me.

I don't really remember the words to that song anymore (something about the dark inside us flickering into light? And coming up into the air--and something being more beautiful than any prayer?) but I can hum it all the way through, perfectly.

Thanks for reminding me about Irenie and--and--oh god, I don't remember his name. Kurt? Something short and Anglo-Saxon. The boy with the headband who went too deep down into the mines and then ended up kissing Irenie in the rain. In the rain? In the flood--there was a flood. The king almost drowned, but he didn't. Man, remembering this movie is like remembering a dream I had a long long time ago.

Hey, Princess and the Goblin secret! I saw it for the first time not so long ago (the rabid William Hootkins fan I am is still a little bitter about the fact that the movie had an amazing voice actor in the cast but barely used him at all!) :D The movie didn't left a really big impression, but I remember thinking the song was pretty good! Loved the lyrics.

For the longest time, I couldn't remember the name of this movie, and all I could remember from it was the part where the boy shouts at the princess to step on the goblin's feet.

This movie was a large part of my childhood. No one else I knew heard of it.

And I love that song. After rewatching that movie last year, I was singing that song all the time.

I need to watch it again.

Haha. I just watched this movie a few weeks ago with a friend. I had seen it a long time ago and could never remember the name of it, until I found it among his old tapes.

Oh my God this movie. I remember being in like first grade and wanting to write a play based around it.

I LOVED this movie. Holy shit. And I remember a little ad thing for phone cards or something - I always wanted one of those.
