Yeah! It premiered at TIFF; IDK why y'all didn't get it sooner. I think it had trouble getting a distributor because, you know, it's about ladies ~enjoying themselves, and we can't have that. >____< But apparently it's great, so I gots to get on that.

LIKE OKAY I can accept that Owen & Cristina are having problems even though I still love them because they're actually realistic problems and it makes sense BUT I DON'T KNOW WHY they basically have to ruin her character to do it. On the one hand I know if I wrote a series that had a bazillion readers and everyone was like OMG HURRY THE FUCK UP WITH THE NEXT ONE YOU TWAT I would just totally panic and have a nutty and get profound writer's block, so I'm trying to have proper ~writerly sympathy--BUT I JUST CAN'T MANAGE IT. GOOD LORD, MAN. (bahahaha that's what Speight said to me when I asked him where angels went when they died. I was like 'shit, son, you're on the show, not me!') People on ONTD were doing, like, GRRM Math and figuring that he said two years for one book and then it was really like eight, so if he says a few more for TWoW then that really means, like...fifty. I can't remember. These were seasoned fans talking. BUT YOU KNOW

Kinda-sorta. After that big ol' mess of an episode with the attempted suicide/wedding/car crash they were like LOL BYE DEAL WITH IT FOR SEVEN WEEKS or something and I've found my Tuesdays to be...oddly tranquil. I can watch a movie! Read a bit! Not punch anyone! Is nice!

AND YEAH, like, the first came out in 1996 and the second in 98 and the third in 2000 (I started reading em when only the first 2 were out but I'm pretty sure Storm of Swords came out like VERY SHORTLY AFTERWARD). But thennnn was when it started getting more complex, clearly, cause FfC was 2005. And then DwD LAST YEAR. And it's not that everyone's like WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR TIME WRITING SHORT STORIES FOR ANTHOLOGIES OR LIKE TALKING ABOUT BASEBALL ON YOUR BLOG, WRITE ASOIAF FASTER (well, SOME people were, but those people are douchebags) but most of us were just like OMG OMG OMG....omg because the projected release date was in 2008. Then it came and he was like "dudes, it's not done" and we were like ":( okay." Then there was another tentative one for like 8 months later and it came and he was like "guys, I'm sorry, it's just not done" and we UNDERSTOOD but it suuuucked. That kept happening. Until last April he was like GUYS, IT'S FUCKING FINISHED and then it came out in July. Yay!

(PS: I KNOW YOU WANNA WAIT FOR THE PAPERBACK BUT THE SMART MONEY SAYS THAT'S NOT GONNA COME OUT UNTIL LIKE, OCTOBER. JUST DO ITTTTT. WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT STUFF!) And hah. Yay! Sounds much more relaxing

okay I'd forgotten how long it was BUT STILLLLLL SO MUCH OF THAT IS ACTION SEQUENCES (OR SEX) AND THOSE GO REALLY FAST ONSCREEN, I JUST FEEL LIKE THEY'RE GONNA HAVE TO PAD IT OUT AND AM AFRAID THAT MY FAVOURITE BOOK IN THE SERIES WILL BECOME TWO WAY-LESS-AWESOMELY-PACED SEASONS. :( though apparently the Reeds are getting cut from s2 (NOOO MY BB MEERA) so at least that's something extra for s3 and 4 to do

I mean there was SUPPOSED to be a 4th book and 5th book with those titles planned, but I think that while writing FFC he was like THIS SHIT IS GETTING TOO BIG and so he split it up by character and tossed all the chapters of a couple'a people into the next. BUT there is a point in DwD where the timelines sync up and there begins actual forward movement in the overall story. I think this happens shortly before the halfway point. And then we start getting some POV chapters from people who were totally in FFC. And oh shit, July? Well maybe idk did you hear it from a publisher or something? Is it like the amazon date? Cause I've only heard rumours up to now so perhaps your thing is way more legit. And heee I feel your pain IN THEORY but I've been buying the first-editions for so fuckin' long that the first 3 match and FfC has a totally different look and DwD has a totally different one TOTALLY ASIDE from being a big-ass hardcover. BUT I'M TOO BROKE TO BUY THE ENTIRE SET ALL OVER AGAIN SO THEY MATCH (and they wouldn't even match right now!). Yeah it's hurting my sense of aesthetics but I just can't do anything about it atm

It was back when I was secretarying and that office had really sporadic internet access so I downloaded that book and left myself a note every night saying what page I left off at. If it wasn't so insanely heavy I'd mail you mine but diljgldkjgh the heavier shit is the more expensive to mail and sweet Christ that thing is a BRICK. How are you with audiobooks? (maybe I could record you one!)
