Everyone here can gush about how humans are amazing and fluffy, but the fact remains the we are a consumptive, non-altruistic, greedy, and destructive species. Stop deluding yourselves to feel better.
Everyone here is using electronics created from conflict minerals (that fuel and create situations such as extortion, violence, rape, and murder in poor countries), eating meat that comes from non-humane sources, wearing clothes that most likely made by unfair labour, using non-sustainable resources, etc., etc. And no one really cares either. That's just the way us humans roll.

Yeah, it's true, we fit in well with all the other consumptive, non-altruistic, greedy, and destructive species of the world. Fortunately, one good extinction-level event and the planet can get a fresh start (until Earth can no longer sustain life at all, anyway). Maybe reptiles will reach sapience that time around!

All species are consumptive, non-altruistic, greedy and destructive. We've just managed to figure out how to do it on a larger scale.

If you think your dog cares that there might be another dog starving down the street then your deluding yourself.

There's a few posts near the top that mention the horrible things animals do to each other. Including beating other members of their own species to death.

Dolphins keep other dolphins as sex slaves and kill baby dolphins for fun, ducks gang rape other ducks - occasionally accidentally killing the female, male lions kill unrelated cubs to cause the female to become fertile so she can have his cubs, chimpanzees beat the females in their groups and orcas will toss baby seals around until long past when their dead before eating them.
