I hope you're not serious, but really? I've used the "I have feelings for someone else" line to turn people down before, and it works the best even when you don't mean it. I support the use of that excuse.

I could almost maybe understand this a bit more if the fictional character you were crushing on was a well-written three-dimensional character but....why would turn down an opportunity to go out with a real human being for the sake of a character who's story was dropped before any real development could happen?
