Don't worry, OP, I think Hunter would be fucking irritating even if you hadn't. I liked him okay at the time, but I remember him as a know-it-all, goody-two-shoes who would probably drive me insane now. Cal was a prat, but at least he wasn't predictable. (Morgan's whole seduced-by-evil character arc would have been a lot better with Cal as the lure, instead of Hunter over there knitting her mittens for her inevitable return to goody goodness.)

Personally I loved the way Cal and Hunter switch places as they developed, but I get how if you formed a strong opinion from the first three books you might not want that to alter.

A Sweep secret! I always liked Hunter, but then again, I was so young when I read the books that I was genuinely surprised when he turned out to be the new love interest. Thanks OP, I can pull out my HP/Sweep icon, which hasn't seen daylight in a while.

The first time I "met" Hunter, I hated him too. But then I really started hating on Cal. So in the end I was happy about what happened.

Now I really want to read the books again. I guess it's time to bring them off my bookshelf and dust them off, hehe.
