Same here, minus the genderqueer part. Franky was one of my favorites. Now she's annoying and one-dimensional, and that's all she'll be remembered as.

But I don't get the "It should've been Franky instead of Grace" statement that everyone in the Skins fandom seems to agree with. Franky was horribly OOC before the crash. And if she'd been the one to die, the rest of the season would've been the others crying over her while she creepily pops up as a ghost. Fans would still be saying "gtfo Franky" every five seconds.

This. It sounds horribly to say, but I think if someone was going to die clumsily and awkwardly in the beginning of the season, for pathos reasons, it probably should have been one of the few characters everybody still likes. But then I was forced to give up on the show after all these years because RL is too busy and I just didn't care enough, so ymmv.

Exactly. Grace was, for the most part, well-liked in the fandom and in the show, she was pretty much the glue trying to keep the group together. I have loads of issues with S6, but Grace being the one to die made perfect sense imo.

Same. I identified with Franky a lot in the last series and then her character did a complete 180. However, during her episode this series I empathised with her a lot. But since in the other episodes we just see her in short spurts, she always just comes across as a bitch. As a whole I think she's a good, well thought out character, it's just not executed very well.

last season was AMAZING and this one is just ppppppppffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffftttttt (<---that was a fart) EVERYONE's suddenly done a total 180 from how they used to be. The writers ignore the paths they spent all of season 5 putting their characters on and all the development they gave em. The hell?

and of course I can't stop watching it JUST IN CASE it suddenly picks up fffuuu (and because I still love the characters and the actors and every teensy glimpse of the way they used to be makes my stupid heart sing)

Except I stopped watching entirely after Frankie's ep.
It's a horrible excuse for a series.

I watched the first ten minute of season 6, broke down into tears and haven't watched it since. Franky, being a non-binary person with PTSD, was someone I could relate to so quickly and they killed off everything that was important about that character for no good reason.

They made her Effy, basically.
