I'm sorry anon, that sucks :( You should definitely get therapy for that though. If you're hating all men for no reason just because of one asshole who happened to be male, that's simply not a healthy reaction at all, and probably means you have other, deeper issues than just the emotional damage inflicted by one abusive scumbag.

I have no idea if misandry is possible (I leave that to the social justice experts); but this, on the other hand, looks rather more like PTSD.

OP seemed to be suggesting that (she?) had more of a hatred of men, including fictional ones, rather than any kind of trauma reaction.

Read the first sentence again. Being in an abusive relationship is extended trauma.

Okay, the pile of Butthurt MRA "but what about teh menz!" notwithstanding, I'd say you just need a little time, OP. Find some books or comics or whatever with male characters who aren't jerks and just stay away from the more problematic characters for a while.

I'm sorry about that OP. I can be over-sensitive to male characters being jerks because I grew up in an emotionally abusive household. I hope you can heal and feel better. Not all men are like that and things can be better for you.

This ... is probably not a troll, but it sort of rings of a "South Park"-esque attempt to show up the hypocrisy of something by creating a silly plot that only reveals itself to be directly comparable to a real-world problem halfway through the episode. As in, lampooning all those "this is why I don't like female characters" secrets and comments by flipping gender. Or attempting to show why disliking characters based on gender is problematic.

Well most secrets like I've seen don't ever mention being abused by a female, they just say they think girls are boring and whiny or whatever. I hope people would be more understanding if a secret like that ever did show up. There's also the fact that this secret doesn't say anything about real men.
