I can't wait until Cas comes back even though I don't really, only kinda, ship them. I'm pretty sure Cas is already kinda redeemed and him being back is all that will matter to Dean. What I hope is that Dean admits he was kinda acting like a total asshole about the whole thing and this isn't another way for Dean to use Cas.

While I would like Dean to get that there is a middle ground between black and white and he doesn't get to decide unilaterally where it is, I don't think his morality has been treated Word of God in show. Pretty much everyone tells him off about it, he just doesn't listen. Leviathan!Dean practically went on a screed about his self-righteousness. Hallucifer, who is pretty much Sam's subconscious, makes snarky comments all the time (I think he mockingly called him St. Dean). Show knows he's being hypocritical. Sam, Bobby, and Cas know he's being hypocritical. Dean just doesn't know. I have a lot of thoughts on this as you could see.

OP here - to be completely fair, I hadn't seen all the most recent episodes when I made the secret, I just had a lot of feelings I needed to get out. After I saw Slash Fiction, I was overjoyed to see that show went out of their way to highlight both boys' flaws. I have since revised my opinion on that part of the secret. =)

That does explain quite a bit, and he does tend to think he's the only adult in the room, so I do understand where you're coming from. I hope you get all your expectations met with Cas' return.

OP - UGH, THIS. THAT wad the part that pissed me off the most was Dean acting like everyone else was a 'freaking child' who didn't know anything as well as he did. -_- Oh well, it seems to have started to correct itself, if only a TEENSY bit, so I'm hopeful for the storyline with Cas being awesome. =D
